FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT TORCH

1. DOES THE COURSE FEE COVER ALL THE COURSE EXPENSES SUCH AS LODGING, FOOD AND TRANSPORT?

The course fee does include all program related expenses such as lodging, food and transport while on the course. The course fee does not include airfare to or from your home to the course rendezvous site.

2. CAN I RECEIVE CREDIT FOR SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THE COURSE?

Courses are accredited through the Colorado School of Mines Teacher Enhancement Program and the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology Masters in Science Teaching Program ( www.nmt.edu/~eodi). Depending on what type of credit you would like to earn, it may be necessary for you to pay additional fees.

3. WHERE DO I GET THE APPLICATION FORMS?

You can print the forms from your web browser. You can also copy the forms from the web to MS WORD or another word processing software and email the completed forms to ELI.

4. DO I NEED A PASSPORT TO TRAVEL TO CANADA OR MEXICO?

CANADA

Since 9/11 it is required that you have either a USA passport.

MEXICO

Since 9/11 it is required that you carry a USA passport.

We will all be entering Mexico and Canada as TOURISTS. USA citizens do NOT require a VISA.


5. IS THERE A COURSE CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your participation in a course your course fee can be returned to you less the non-refundable deposit.

Courses have a minimum student enrollment of five students.

Should the course cancel due to low enrollment our policy is to give you a full refund of the entire course fee. Any course cancellation decision would be made not less than four weeks prior to the course start date.

However, we are not responsible for compensating you for your airline ticket. Most airlines would honor the value of the ticket towards the purchase of a future ticket within one year of issue.
